Description : This is a straightforward, top-view racer/shooter from some of the former members of Future Crew, one of the most revered demogroups ever. Win races by either blasting the opposition to smithereens or outrun them in the old fashioned way, all the while progressing through 6 different cars with tire, engine and armour upgrades. You can also cheat your way out of races by purchasing spiked bumpers,mines and rocket fuel in the black market, or sabotaging opposing vehicles. The game has a very fast engine (smooth on a decent Pentium 100) which utilizes some 3D, high quality and fast-paced music, and atmosphere. Top-down racing games are sort of a sub-genre of the larger racing genre, and Death Rally is a good example of how to do things right. Sort of like Super Sprint with more destruction. The graphics are great, as are the sounds, and the gameplay involves picking up or buying cool weapons to destroy the other cars in the races (hence the name). One of Apogee's later products, this game has all the markings of Apogee's other quality products.
