Based on the Build engine from Duke Nukem 3D, Blood is a horror-themed first person shooter with pop culture references to a number of movies and games. Its originality and mood made it a cult classic in the genre and is one of the best selling games to use the engine. Originally planned as a 3D Realms title, the rights were sold to Monolith Studios and the game was published by Atari.
